Life in the Boarding Houses

A look at daily life, routines, support, and activities

A Second Home for Girls

At Education For All, our boarding houses are more than just places to stay, they are second homes where girls from remote villages in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains can grow, learn, and thrive. Each house offers warmth, care, and a family-like atmosphere, offering a supportive environment designed to help the girls focus on their studies and build brighter futures.

Organized for Care and Comfort

Each boarding house is carefully managed to ensure it feels like a home away from home. A dedicated housemother oversees the house, acting as a second mother to the girls. She is the heart of our boarding houses, ensuring the girls feel cared for and supported every day.

Working alongside her is a cook who prepares nutritious meals daily and a cleaner who maintains the spaces so the girls can concentrate fully on their education.

Dedicated Housemothers

Our housemothers provide daily supervision, emotional support, and guidance. They are the heart of our boarding houses, ensuring the girls feel cared for and supported every day.

“I'm really grateful to be here because of the kindness of the housemothers and the fact that they never give up on us.”

— Yousra

Volunteers

Volunteers are welcomed throughout the year. These volunteers bring unique skills and energy, enriching the girls' lives through educational sessions, creative activities, and play.

For those who wish to make a real difference, you can join our program as a volunteer. Learn how to become a volunteer and contribute to changing lives by visiting the following page:

Warm, Functional Spaces

Every boarding house is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of the girls while creating a comfortable, family-style setting. Here's what you'll find in each house:

  • Dining and Study Area: A communal space that doubles as a dining room and study area, fostering shared learning and connection.
  • Digital and Library Space: Equipped with computers, books, and secure internet access to ensure productive and safe online learning.
  • Quiet Workspaces: Secluded spots for focused individual study.
  • Kitchen: A functional kitchen where meals are prepared with care.
  • Bedrooms: Comfortable rooms for the girls, along with separate bedrooms for the housemother and volunteers, ensuring everyone has their own private space.
  • Bathrooms and Sanitary Facilities: Clean, well-maintained spaces to support the girls’ daily routines.
  • Outdoor Areas: Gardens or large terraces that provide spaces for relaxation, fresh air, and fun.

“Safety is our priority. While the girls enjoy freedom and access to modern facilities, the houses are secure and closely monitored to ensure they remain safe and welcoming environments.”

Building Brighter Futures

Beyond offering a safe and nurturing environment, our boarding houses foster confidence, independence, and resilience. The girls living here not only advance academically but also grow emotionally and socially. They form lifelong friendships, build valuable life skills, and gain the foundation they need to build a promising future.

The boarding houses are not just accommodations, they are spaces where dreams take root, potential flourishes, and lives transform.
